Basketball is a great sport, with a good source of exercise and team great team work. When I was in the eighth grade our basketball had team building meetings to teach better team work skills so that we would play better. To make a basketball team better than the next the team has to have trust in each other, and my team did not. Our team was the kind of team that believed we could do it all by ourselves little did we know we all needed each other. We did not follow directions very well, our trust for our coach and our team sucked. Also the team was out of shape. To turn our team around a parent suggested that we have team building meetings to get closer and more trusting of our team members. We then started practicing harder, and we started trusting people. What went from playing five games and only winning won, went to playing five games and winning three of the five. Basketball changes us girls into the players we are today, and that is the best reward of all. Even if some of us do not play anymore the game gave us good life materials to help us be better people in this world.

The history of basketball started in the invention of it in 1891 in Springfield Massachusetts by Canadian physical education instructor James Naismith as a less injury-prone sport than football. Basketball is played now by more than 250 million people worldwide. Naismith created the rules for basketball in about an hour, and most of them still apply in some way for basketball. Basketball has been around for a long time, and in my family we take it as seriously as church. All of us know how to play, we could pretty much coach it. Which is what half of us are going to end up being since our grandpa and our uncle is one. Basketball is in our blood, and it'll never end.

So, I have decided I am playing basketball my senior year. I am so pumped, I have not played since I was a sophomore in high school. My skills will probably be a little rusty, but I am sure with a lot of hard work I will be able to get right back where I was again. Maybe I will be even better than I was. My dad is really proud of me for doing basketball again, and that makes me really happy because now my dad and I will have something to bond over again. My mom on the other hand does not think I should play. She thinks it is to dangerous because I have a bad knee and shoulder, but I have been working both of them out lately so hopefully they will both be ready to play by game time. I just cannot wait to have my parents watching me play, like the good ole days. I am so excited for next years season to start I have started my own little training to get prepared for our couches conditioning in the summer. Hopefully the season gets here a lot faster!!

My favorite NBA team is the either the Bulls, or the Lakers. Growing up I always favored the Lakers more, but I think that it was only because I loved Kobe Bryant so much. All that I have ever wanted was to go to a La Lakers, or Chicago Bulls game. My dad took me to see a pacers game once, honestly does not compare to what it would be to be at a Lakers or Bulls game. Growing up there was a big rivalry with cletics and the lakers. My family has always been into basketball, eat, sleep, breathe, basketball. In our family if you don't like basketball you must have been dropped on your head as a child. All of us grandchildren learned at a very early age that you didn't talk when it came to basketball, or else we got into trouble.
